Hello families! Happy Friday!
We are getting closer and closer to the day when early childhood educators will be offered the opportunity to receive vaccination against COVID-19. Many of our staff are eagerly awaiting our turn. The latest update from Public Health is that the earliest date we can begin to receive a vaccine is March 1st, 2021. Until then, we wanted to send a kind reminder that all of our staff have been making huge sacrifices to keep your children and families safe by doing everything possible to keep COVID out of our centers. We hope that you will help take care of all of us in return. We cannot mandate that families live their lives outside of the center in any particular way. But, if you are considering gathering in a large group or you get tested or traveling out of state or on an airplane in the near future, we would appreciate it if you would volunteer to self-quarantine your family after the event or upon return for at least a week and have a negative COVID-19 test before returning to the center.
LCLA has always had an open door policy with a family atmosphere. Maintaining that has been difficult right now with safety rules in place that don’t allow families inside the building and classrooms. Please keep in mind that standing outside at drop off and pick up and continuing to maintain a distance of 6 feet from all staff helps keep us all safe right now.
We are all looking forward to the day where we can have our family activities again at the zoo, pumpkin patch, sledding, etc. We are already starting to think of spring when we might be able to gather together again in an outdoor setting if we can contain this virus. For right now, we are all committed to doing our part in that effort. Thank you for helping us!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend,
Amanda
