Continuing with Masks

Hello everyone,

All staff, children over two years old and adults entering the building will continue to wear masks inside.

I am in continuous conversation with our owners and directors at other centers. We really trust Madison Metropolitan School District and the decision they made to continue wearing masks indoors through, at least, the first week in May. Many child care centers in the Madison area continue to wear masks, as many of our children are still not able to get fully vaccinated.

Please feel free to email me if you have any questions or concerns.

Friday, April 15th & Monday, April 18th

Happy Monday!

I just wanted to send a little reminder that we will be closing on Friday, April 15th at Noon. We will still serve morning snack at 9am, but will not be serving lunch. If you do not plan on bringing your child in that day please let you teachers know.

We will also be closed on Monday, April 18th for Parent/Teacher Conferences.

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday weekend,

Classroom Breakfast Updates

Hi everyone,

There have been many questions regarding the family breakfast tomorrow. I am so sorry if information has been vague, due to COVID it has been a few years since we have done this.

LCLA will be providing some fruit, bagels with cream cheese and coffee. These items will be out in the kitchens at each center.

If you would like to to provide more breakfast items for your child’s classroom, please feel free, but it is not required.

Please reach out if you ever have any questions or concerns.

Wishes Wall for your Children

Good morning,

Yesterday, I posted about our Week of the Young Child activities, but forgot to mention our classroom Wish Walls.

Each classroom was given a postcard for you to write some special words or wishes you have for you child. Each classroom has done this a little differently. Some of you have turned in your postcards already and some of you can grab one from you classroom.

I look forward to reading these special messages in the classroom. As always please reach out if you have any questions.

Week of the Young Child & April Snack Menu

Happy Monday Everyone!

Attached are two pictures, one for our Week of the Young Child activities and the other our April Snack Menu.

We consider everyday Week of the Young Child, but this is a week celebrated nationally that we always participate in. Our classrooms will be creating, extra, fun activities with the children this week and we will celebrate your family by providing an easy breakfast on Friday.

I hope you all have a wonderful week.

Mask Update & Coming into the Classroom

Hello families,

There have been many questions involving the mask mandate and what we are going to be following. After talking with Becky and Jessie and listening to other directors in meetings, LCLA is going to follow MMSD’s phased approach to the mask protocols. This means masks will be mandatory indoors, but may be removed outdoors. We will do our best to honor family choice with children outdoors. Closer to April 15th we will reevaluate to determine if masks will continue to be mandatory indoors. This brings us past most of the school districts spring breaks. We have seen most spikes of COVID cases happen after high travel/vacation times and breaks. The link too MMSD’s letter is included at the end.

Little Chicks Learning Academy is going to start allowing families back into the center, with a few safety protocols.
~We ask that you still wear a mask inside. Masks must be well fit and non-cloth. We will provide surgical masks in our entry ways.
~Please only one guardian per house hold at a time in the classroom. There may be multiple drop off and pickups happening in a classroom and if each child had both parents that would be a lot of people in one classroom. This is going to be a big adjustment for everyone so please just one guardian per house hold for now.

So many of you have never been in our center, so just a few notes about what this will look like.
~Enter through our main entry way. We will give you a generic code for now. We are in the process of changing our keypad at the 601 center.
~Please remove your shoes in the entry way, this is especially important in the winter and on rainy days.
~You will go into your child’s classroom to help them take their things off and put them in their cubbies, sign your child in and let their teacher know how the day has been going. This is going to be a learning process for everyone involved, even the teachers that have been here for a long time need to re-learn this process again. Each classroom may have a certain routine they prefer.
~This should make the signing in and out with ELV (on the IPADS and your phones) easier.

Again, this is going to be a learning process for all of us. Please reach out anytime with questions, concerns and comments you may have.

2022/2021 Traditional (Full-Time) Contracts

Hello families,

Your 2022/2023 contracts are ready, if you filled out the survey, and in your child’s classrooms. Your current teachers will give the contracts to do you today or tomorrow. Please initial each line, fill out the back and return with the amount indicted on the top.

We are sad to see some of our kiddos go on to Kindergarten and other schools, but also so happy and excited for their new adventures.

A big CONGRATULATIONS to so many of you expecting new babies as well! We are looking forward to seeing these siblings learn and grow at LCLA as well.

As always if you have any questions, concerns or comments feel free to email me at
