What Is Non-Traditional Care?

Non-traditional care was created for families who don’t need regular 40 hour/week, Monday through Friday child care, and it’s for those times when families who have other child care need a plan b.  Families can choose to use the Non-Traditional child care program at LCLA on an as needed basis, or families can sign a short-term contract for a length and number of hours per week that fits their needs.  Short-term contracts guarantee the family a space in the center for the hours they need for as long as they need.

Hourly Care:  The family can call our 24 hour Reservation Line at 608-233-7373 to schedule hours up to two weeks in advance.  The center is open every day from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM with a two hour minimum for care.  There is a one time registration fee of $25/child to process paperwork.  Please see our ‘Enrollment’ tab for links to all required paperwork.

Short-Term Contracted Care:  These contracts are available on a limited basis.  The center can only accommodate a center number per semester.  We follow University of Wisconsin-Madison’s calendar to determine semester schedules.  UW-Madison students and faculty are given priority for these short-term contracts.  Rates for care are still the same as the Hourly rate for care.  Please see our rates for care tab under the Non-Traditional Enrollment tab.

To arrange a tour of the Non-Traditional Center, or to inquire about a contract, please call our Center Director, Chanel at 608-233-9970.
